100for100 is a joint-venture with H1studio, a design studio located in Singapore. We use server centres, based in USA (Neutelligent, Tampa, USA), established in the early 1990s. As of Sept 2003, we will also have servers in Singapore (STIX, Comcentre). We were getting frustrated with the high fees of local web hosting companies and spent more than 6 months sourcing for a reliable hosting provider that would provide us servers at wholesale prices.

Connectivity is BGP routed so in case one provider experiences problems, traffic is automatically served by the next available carrier from the pick. It has a robust redundant backbone, leveraged server cluster, load balancing, advanced security features and reliable customer service support. This data centre has a direct connection to the Internet Backbone and ATM Network. The self-healing network architecture eliminates a single point of failure. In addition to the backbone, in place is a backup transit from multiple providers in multiple locations to ensure that data will arrive via the shortest possible route.

Because of the backup transit and the many international peers, the network maintains the shortest routes for sending data all over the world. On an ongoing basis, negotiations take place with the top fiber carriers for new routes, additional backup transit providers, and updated peering relationships are always being added.

Network Details

100for100's servers are connected to Neutelligent, a privately owned company and carries no debt. This is important in todays market place, where hosting companies are going out of business due to poor management and huge expenditures. Neutelligent owns and operates it's own data centres. Neutelligent is not co-located in someone else's data centre. They are located in downtown Tampa,FL. ,in one of the only true NOC's in the southeast. Neutelligent has huge fiber commitments with the following carriers, totalling over 4.5 gigs: UUNET, Level 3, and EPiK.

The entire network is fully switched and utilizes the Border Gateway Protocol Version 4 (BGP4) over Cisco 12000 series GSR routers. This ensures that bandwidth can be routed through the best available carrier giving you seamless connectivity at the same time. We always update the router's IOS after we have stress tested the latest IOS on a non-critical router, to make sure it is very stable. The switch that your equipment will ultimately be connected to is connected back to a core router via fiber.

STIX, which houses our Singapore servers, has one of the largest Internet backbone networks in Asia Pacific, providing the widest network coverage in the region. Coupled with an extensive bandwidth capacity of more than 1.5Gbps to the U.S.A. and Europe, SingTel IX provides a single port access to a high performance network that helps transit the provider's Internet traffic to the rest of the world.
